There is no higher institution of learning in the world over that can boast of excellence without the support of a versatile and dynamic library which provides information resources which meets the needs of its patrons.
Oyo State College of Nursing and Midwifery Library was a product of merging of two existing schools i.e. School of Nursing Eleyele, founded in 1949 and School of Midwifery, Yemetu founded in 1954 by the administration of Former Governor of Oyo State, Sen. Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja on 24th of August, 2005 through an enabling act of Oyo State house of Assembly. The Law of the College of Nursing and Midwifery was gazetted in August, 2005 through Oyo State of Nigeria Gazette Vol. 30, No. 19 and by the Oyo State College of Nursing and Midwifery Law, 2005.This enactment was brought into fruition during the administration of Late Sen. Isiaq Abiola, Ajimobi on 7th of March, 2014 which also serve as formal take off of the College.
The College Library is located in a bungalow building adjacent to the Administrative Block, literally at the heart of the College and is very well used and well received by students, researchers and the external community. The Library as an integral part of the College, owes its history from the growth and development of its parent institution. The library offers information needs for students, lecturers, researchers, and practicing professionals within its institutional composition.
